Blogs are quick and easy to set up and excellent vehicles for marketing affiliate programs. However, having said this, your success as an affiliate marketer begins with choosing the right affiliate programs and creating your blog to target a profitable niche. Blogs need to be highly focused to be successful. Therefore, it is important to spend time planning your blog and affiliate marketing strategies to maximize your blog income.

Once you have set up your blog, decided on which affiliate products you want to market, and have begun to post unique and informative articles specific to your niche, you need to optimize your blog for search engines. First, a sitemap of your blog should be submitted to the search engines. Each search engine will instruct you on how to do this. Second, your articles should be tightly focused on a subject, containing relevant keywords and synonyms (to appeal to Google’s latent semantic index) while at the same time being interesting, informative and unique.
